Position Description

Lakeshore Medical Clinic, Ltd (LMC) a multi-specialty healthcare group is currently seeking an experienced individual in the field of Radiology to join our team as Radiology Manager.


PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Directs, plans and oversees specific administrative departmental functions related to the operations of LMC Radiology Department.
 
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures and systems
Knowledge of health care administration practices
Knowledge of computer systems and applications
Knowledge of government and reimbursement regulations and requirements
Demonstrated skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising
Ability to gather data and provide necessary interpretation when requested
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in either inpatient or outpatient clinical environment is required.  Successful completion of a radiologic technology program approved by the Committee on Allied Health, Education and Accreditation is preferred but not required.
Current certification as a radiologic technologist by the ARRT (or eligible) is preferred but not required.
Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience required.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
May perform duties as a staff radiologic technologist in his/her specific modality in order to maintain certification/licensure. Patient care time will be determined as necessary to meet all departmental needs and will be listed on appropriate Human Resources labor allocation forms.
Block schedules as directed by Director and/or Radiologists.
Define and request template changes from IS as needed.
Reviews and updates schedules of technical personnel at assigned sites and communicates all scheduling information (including changes) to the Radiology Director. Changes may include such things as: scheduled and unscheduled "down" time, staff meetings related to workflow, quality assurance and continued education, and all other matters assigned by the Radiology Director.
Edits Kronos records for technical personnel under his/her supervision.
Facilitates the development and achievement of mission, goals, policies, budget, and work methods.
Assists Radiology Director in budget preparation of expense and capital equipment as assigned.
Manages radiologic services in accordance with clinical and governmental standards and within an established budget.
Reviews and codes site-based expense invoices for signature by the Director and executive staff as established by LMC finance policies.
Maintains records and reports and collects statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
Reviews procedural charge codes for accuracy and continuity on a daily basis.
Conducts employee performance reviews, disciplinary matters and is the primary contact for recruiting-related matters within the Radiology department.
Recommends action necessary for improvement in overall performance of the department.
Recommends and maintains quality standards for examinations and patient card, per Radiology Director and/or Radiologists' direction.
Evaluates and maintains the quality of radiographs and films, procedures and services. 
Aids in establishing, implementing and updating quality programs for the radiologic staff as well as monitoring both technologists and exams to ensure continued compliance with said programs.
Responsible for inventory and supply orders, office and medical, in coordination with Central Purchasing personnel.
Develop and maintain a complete vendor list and a log of all equipment repairs at assigned sites involving Central Purchasing personnel as necessary and in keeping with all LMC purchasing policies.
Oversees and collects monthly statistics for all radiologic specialties.
Reviews department performance and ensures compliance, accreditation, legal and other regulatory requirements.
Collects/analyzes data prepares and presents information/statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes.
Coordinates testing and evaluation of new products for potential future use within the department, including new equipment installations and/or applications with Central Purchasing personnel.
Responsible for coordinating repair and maintenance of Radiology equipment at assigned sites with established vendors.
Reviews, updates and writes technical procedures, maintaining a strict focus on changes in technology and conducts or assists with staff training through in-service programs regarding new equipment and new procedures.
Encourages all technical staff to also regularly attend career development and continuing education trainings.
Maintains technical as well as professional continuing education on a personal basis.
Ensures that technologists and assistants in within his/her division perform their duties maintaining requisite organizational standards of customer service and professionalism.
Ensures the maintenance of necessary information logs and related information (i.e. Processor QC & Repair log, X-ray badge data, PTO log for staff employees, etc.)
Maintains radiology policy and procedure book.
Oversees that all services are conducted within applicable state and federal regulations for the practice of all modalities offered within the group.
Meets with Director monthly for review of service issues identified by site Clinic Managers and Physicians.
Works closely with Clinic Managers to assist in timely and regular cross training in areas of Radiology staffed by personnel reporting outside of Radiology.
Disseminates organizational and departmental news and all policy/procedure changes to staff under his/her supervision.
Follows all LMC policies and procedures.
 
OTHER DUTIES and ABILITIES:
Attend trainings and learn other skills as are appropriate to being a "manager".
Maintain a constant awareness of new or future trends in the management of and/or to support continued growth within the Radiology group.
